“My alarm clock’s nine minutes fast.” She rushed the words.
His head reared back. “What?”
She leaned into him, her chin resting against his shoulder. “Just letting you know you’ll have nine more minutes to sleep, ’cause I always hit the snooze once. It’s a gift to myself for being alive each day.”
He turned his head and their lips almost touched. “Might be something we could accomplish in those nine minutes, too.”
“I love a challenge.”
